Should I choose a new bike to ride this year?

Since I started this adventure, I have used five different bikes.  My de Rosa was actually completed the night before the event way back in 2018 which wasn't the best idea.  The first day was a touch uncomfortable to be polite.
I have a couple left that have not participated; a 1984 six speed Chesini and my new Battaglin gravel bike.  The Chesini is a non-starter unless I can find or borrow a decent set of clincher wheels to replace the vintage tubular rims it currently rolls on.
The gravel bike is certainly an option though....
What I do know for certain, is that I will be riding with my long-time compatriot Gavin "Nugget" Criddle because he always looks like he has enjoyed the day regardless of how much he is hurting.

2025 - Are we there yet?

Each year at this time I have a decision to make. Do I do the cancer ride again, or not?  About August every year I tell people that I have already done this enough times and this will be the last one.  By the middle of October, we have had the ride, I have had a blast seeing many that I ride with just once a year and meeting more great people who I never see again too.  But they all have one thing in common beyond riding bikes: they are part of the most giving community I can imagine.

I get such a kick out of spending a weekend with this great group that any doubts about whether we do it again the following year are cast aside and as usual I find myself signing up for the next year.
