Logging the Ks

As the cooler and hopefully wetter weather arrives, I've passed 2000kms recorded here and 4000 kms so far this year.

I'm aiming for 6000kms by the time of the ride in October and between 8 - 9000 for the year overall.

Perth Hills Gran Fondo

So the training has been going okay and my fitness and climbing legs were severely tested last Sunday at the Perth Hills Gran Fondo.

While this is a reasonable 135kms in length, it's involves a pretty unreasonable 2,700 meters of elevation, including some brutal climbs late in the ride.

But I made it around and had fun (mostly)!

Normal, flatter training can now resume.....

I’m riding to beat cancer

As many of you know, I like to ride my bike.

Mostly I do it for my own health and well-being, but this October I'm doing it for an even bigger reason.

I’m taking a stand against cancer and backing the brilliant brains at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

These WA researchers are committed to finding answers faster and developing ground-breaking treatments for the hardest to treat cancers.

I’m training hard, fundraising $2,500 and riding 200km in two days to support WA cancer research and I’d be so grateful for your support.
