Massive THANK YOU to 'Marmion Street Fresh & Gourmet'!!

Our local independent supermarket, 'Marmion Street Fresh & Gourmet' has started hosting a can and bottle recycling bin, with all proceeds going towards the fight against cancer and research at our amazing Harry Perkins Institute.

A massive Thank You to the Marmion Fresh & Gourmet team, especially Steph who saw the opportunity to help our community and help keeping containers out of landfill!

As always, every 10cent bottle counts in the fight against cancer, so this helps along the way.

Fundraising - Off to a Great Start!

Being part of the MACA 200 ride is a big and exciting challenge for riders: Not only do we have to ride 200km in a single weekend, we also have to raise at least $2,500 each for cancer research.
I started collecting cans in my immediate community. Not only is it keeping them out of landfill, it's also helping me reach my fundraising target, 10 cents at a time.

And here's the new bike!

Check out my nice new bike! I am still getting used to a much narrower handlebar, different brakes and gears and an overall very different feel.

Next week, I will try the cleats for the first time. Fingers crossed I won't fall off!

New Bike!!

To start the new adventure, I am looking at myself a brand new bike! It's a beauty!

... I just need to learn how to ride it :) I only ever rode mountain bikes, so riding a road bike will be very different. Plus, I have never used cleats before, so it will take a little bit of practice.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer has taken so much from us. Whether it is a loved one, family member, friend or closer to home, cancer is relentless.

I want to put a stop to cancer by riding 200kms to raise vital funds for cancer research right here in WA.

The funds I raise will go to the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to !nding breakthroughs that will lead to improved health outcomes for those aected by the hardest-to-treat diseases.

Hearing the words “it’s cancer” is heart-wrenching. But with Perkins researchers, I am determined to eliminate the fear and uncertainty that cancer brings.

On Saturday 11 October and Sunday 12 October 2025, I will pedal alongside my fellow riders who share the dream of making cancer non-lethal. Your support can turn this dream into reality.

Many riders return every year because they know that the funds we raise go back to the Perkins. It is also a worst kept secret that the Ride is the friendliest cycling charity event in Australia. Why not join me in making a difference?

Whether you join me on the Ride or contribute to my fundraising page, your generous support matters.

Together, we can conquer cancer.
